CDHS to the Rescue, Again!

Kudos to the Central Dakota Humane Society in Mandan for taking in and caring for all of the animals recently taken from a Bismarck woman's home. According to the Bismarck Tribune, she had 47 dogs in her home.

CDHS also took in Buster, an abandoned, neglected and abused dog. Thanks to CDHS he's doing much better. CLICK HERE to read about Buster.

I'm sure CDHS would appreciate any and all donations, especially monetary donations, to assist them in continuing to care for these animals. No matter how much they have on their plate, or the state of current finances, they always step up to help out when it's really needed. If you're interested in making a donation, here's the contact information:

My Furry Valentine

Have some cute pics of your favorite furry friend? Consider entering them in ASPCA's "My Furry Valentine" contest.

"We wanna see your best shot of your best bud—maybe it was your childhood pooch, or the first four-legged member of your current family. You know, that special furry someone who opened up your heart and helped you earn a lifetime membership as a doting pet parent.

Entries will be accepted February 1 through February 29. The top ten winners will receive an ASPCA Prize Pack, and winning photos will also be featured on the ASPCA website and in ASPCA Action. Can’t wait to see what you’ve got for us—and in the meantime, let’s hear it for the ones who taught us that love is a four-legged word!"

Spay Day on Feb 26

From Central Dakota Humane Society's web site:

Spay Day (February 26) shouldn't be just one day out of the year. Of course, Spay Day exists to help educate people on why they should spay and neuter their pets. Every year shelters and friends of animals all over the world focus on getting the word out about this very important responsibility. Unfortunately the message goes largely unnoticed. This is more than just an unfortunate set of circumstances - it is the difference in millions of unwanted, homeless and eventually, euthanized pets each year.
