Illegal Puppy Peddlers

SAN DIEGO -- Cute, cuddly puppies -- you see them advertised in newspapers, on display in parking lots or on street corners. Many of them include papers -- documents to prove they are pedigreed and healthy. The only problem: They're not.

Don't buy dogs from newspapers and pet stores! If you really want a pure bred dog find a reputable breeder.

I thought of another option. Consider looking into rescue organizations. You'll still get the full breed dog you want, you'll be saving an animal and you won't be giving puppy mills your business. Win-Win Situation!

You can easily do a search on the Internet to find rescue groups. For example, look at this site: http://www.netpets.com/dogs/dogresc/doggrp.html
